Post How to "re index" ride height screw?

While trying to lower the front end of my 1981 911SC, I ran out of adjustment on the right side. Can someone explain how to "re-index" the screw to allow for more adjustment.

Hi Todd:

No problem,....First, you need to do is remove that undertray so that you can see what you are doing and:

With the RF wheel off the ground, observe the position of the torsion bar adjuster. This is the part that the screw threads into.

Remove the adjusting screw

Grab the adjuster (it might be stiff) and pull it off the end of the torsion bar and reinstall it in a different position based on whether you need to lower it or raise it more.

Reinstall the screw and put the car back on the ground to see where you are at.

After you get the car's ride height where you want it, reinstall that steel undertray.

Corner-weight the car and align.
