identifying a G50 tranny.
My car is an 87 and the engine is an 88, unknown tranny.
Lately, I have read several posts about pulling off the shift ****. Several people saying that the shift **** on the earlier tranny is just pulled off while the G50 shift **** has a plastic tab to pop and unscrew. I looked at mine shift **** sveral times and can't find any tab on the **** at all. Now I doubt that if mine tranny is a G50 or one of the previous owner adapt in an earlier tranny.
Is there a way to make sure what tranny you have?
Thanks.
Here is a pic of my shift ****

Hi:
One opf the best way to make a positive ID of the G-50 is to look under the car (on the driver's side) and locate the clutch slave cylinder thats mounted on the bellhousing.
G-50 equipped Carrera's have hydraulically actuated clutches and 915-equipped cars have a cable.
