Default Wheel and tire clearance problem.911sc

I had some issues with a 225 front tire clearing on a 911sc so I went back to a 205 front tire, now I have some Ruf wheels 17x8 fronts and was wondering if you can stretch a 205 on this wheel. Ruf recommends a 215 but thats a weird size and I already have a set of brand new 205's....let me know what you think
thanks

205's are FAR too narrow for an 8" wheel and unsafe. You need 225 on that width of a wheel.

I'm a little confused.....people recommend a 205 for a 7.5 inch wheel and Ruf recommends a 215 for a 8 inch wheel and I hear a 225-235 will work also if you roll the fenders..my problem is I have some body work on my car that mal be a problem if I try to roll the fenders......and the 225's I put on a 7.5 inch wheel not only hit the fender well but the lip also...

I have 225/17s on the front of my SC and only had to roll the very top for a bout 8" on the drivers side for the tyre not to rub.
Even before it only rubbed under extreme contitions. The problem is with 911s of this era they all seem to vary a bit (hand made) so what's ok on one won't always fit another identical car.
However having said that I would probably have gone for 215s with hindsight.

Tire sectional widths vary as do individual cars,.........one juggles wheel widths, offsets, camber settings, ride height, and rolled fender lips to fit oversized tires & wheels on these cars.

215's will work,......225's are better,....235's require precise offsets, rolled fenders and additional camber.
