ok this is what i have done...
checked all vacuum lines..
tightened all intake srews..sprayed carb cleaner and no difference.
put all together...DISCONNECTED CO SENSOR (1 plug with 2 wires) and push on (plug with 1 wire).
disconnected idle stabilizer.
idled car and set mixture ....when it got close to closed position
( rich) the car idled ultra smooth. connected idle and set idle...no problem ...still smooth.
connected co sensor AND BACK TO BAD LUMPY IDLE.....
what gives...

When you say CO sensor do you mean the O2 sensor that plugs into the cat converter? If so, then it sounds like you need a new O2 sensor. You can run the car with it disconnected for a short period, but you really should have it hooked up. I replaced mine a while back and it did smooth out the idle.

You can test the O2 sensor by hooking a good voltmeter-suggest digital-b/w the single wire and ground. I don't recall exactly the voltage you should see (believe it to be between .1 and .8v but not sure-but its been discussed frequently, do a search here or on Pelican)but if you see a steady zero voltage, its bad. The 3 wire O2 sensor has one output wire-the other two wires are for the heating element, and polarity is non critical. If yours is bad, you can replace with a Bosch unit intended for Fords (I can find the p/n if you need it) simply by snipping off the Ford connector and solding on the wiring from the Porsche sensor. $49.99 v $160.00.

Good posts. The O2 sensor may be driving the DME
too lean. Measure the voltage, S/B about .6V @
proper Lambda/CO. Maybe get another O2 sensor,
they're only good for about 60K miles.
Good luck

YES i would appreciate that p/n for sensor. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
