Default Chin spoiler install - one more question.

The routine for installing the 911 chin spoiler in "101 Projects for your 911" makes bolting the center of the spoiler up sound like no big deal. My car has minimal clearance between the lower valance lip and the protective steel bar just behind it. I don't see how I can get a wrench back there to tighten the bolt.

Any thoughts? Is the protective bar removable?

I was really hoping not to have to take off the valance.

Never mind, I answered my own question. I can unbolt the protective bar for more access.

Are you going to put the bar back on?

Oh, yes! It protects the oil cooler.

The protective bar DOES NOT PROTECT the oil cooler, it protects the front A/C condenser.

I stand corrected. Either way it protects something vital, so back on it goes after the spoiler is installed.

FWIW (and a bit OT but I'll say it anyway as a data point for those that have no a/c), I removed all my a/c-related components, which of course includes that front condenser. But I opted to retain that front bar for a modicum of protection should I ever go "farming" off track. Well, I ended up doing just that a few months ago and indeed, the bar helped (I think??!) in preventing more damage to the undercarriage at the nose area. That bar also helped provide support behind the valance, keeping it from bending all the way back ...in my case, I was able to just grab the valance and yank it forward, and she looks as good as she did before the OTE.
