SPEEDING TICKET HELP?
#18
You might have called that # and gotten thru to the DA's office which is usually in the Cthse. Or somebody in the Ct. might have broken the law - it happens.
Extending is a good idea - be careful tho as if done multiple times it might anger the judge.
A good traffic ticket atty will know what should be done - but you'll have to pay for his services. The original post (jail time) indicates that this is plenty sever enough to hire one.

Start walking thru the yellow pages for lawyers in the county where the offense was committed. Call a few, and if they don't handle traffic cases ask them if they can recommend another.
And like someone else mentioned, put some extra food out for the dog in case you don't come home for a few days. I also don't think you should even mention the speedo problem. You'd be admitting that you were driving a defective vehicle (a traffic offense in most states), and nobody's going to believe you were driving a Porsche at 108 and thought you were doing 55. I've been before judges a number of times (ahem..) and I've found that they appreciate honesty and an acceptance of responsibility. But hopefully your lawyer will make things a lot easier.

In this 108 in a 55 mph zone case, drop the broken speedo idea or experience the maximum sentence for insulting the judge. Next break off a sizeable chunk of cash and hire a Good Attorney that specialises in that area of law and hope for the best. Attending your local church services couldn't hurt either...
A Google search for fight your ticket will bring up lots of good sites with all sorts of good legal info... Good Luck my friend...

I have no experience with these folks though the website is interesting. In spite of what looks like very good help there, for your case I would hire a pro.
