Kevin,

Keep it simple man! Fuel Filter, Fuel Accumulator, or Fuel Frequency Valve. Listed by experience on the same engine. Sounds like you are starving for fuel. Charge battery good overnight. Check fuel lines too. I've been there. Good luck. All parts at Overnight parts. I don't like Pelican's USPS shipping and slow response time. I changed one at a time and my car screams. clipboard , why the fire ext.? Ron ,thanks for the source! How can I be starving for fuel if i can manually lift the sensor plate just a hair and she fires, idles, and revs freely and powerfully right up to redline?

We need a good tech here for some input. I would think maybe a vacuum leak. why is the plate not lifting? is it not lifted by vacuum ?

Okay, where's Pete when you need him ? Sounds like air or vacuum leak to me too after further evaluation. The parts I mentioned wouldn't hurt you though if the car has been sitting. I had simlar symptoms.

Without pressure readings, it's just a shot in the dark, but if you find raising the plate helps, then you're possibly too lean. Adjust the mixture in the fuel distributor with an allen wrench, 3mm I believe. Clockwise is richer. Try 1/4 turn increments

Regards,

Jerry

UPDATE: Jerry, I pulled the boot and found the mix screw between sensor plate housing and fuel distributor. Inserted a 3mm allen and gave it 3 1/4 turns clockwise(richer) and then counterclockwise a 1/8 turn. Reassembled everything and turned the key. It started right up and ran terrific for a nice drive around town. Parked it and it restarts easy everytime. I don't know why I did'nt think of this before Jerry mentioned it,I had the same exact problem with a c.i.s. 928s years ago and fixed it this way. Anyway thanks a million to everyone who lent their time on this!
