The manual states the following for tire pressure
Front: 29 psi
Rear: 32 psi
Upon reading through Paul Frere's Porsche 911 Story, he states on p. 74 and again on p. 170 that rear tire pressure for 930/60 (1978/9) should be 42 psi.
which is correct?

It may just be a subtle difference between cold and hot pressures? At the track, I run 34 rear on my SC with 245/45-16s. By the time they heat up, the pressures are close to 40.
Running 42 COLD would mean that HOT you would get near 50psi, which is just too much darn pressure. Certainly more than manufacturers want in their tires.
