Default My SC's Christmas present

I couldn't resist, this feels so much better than the stock SC wheel. I know it's not the stock wheel ( I suppose some purists might say I should have left that on) but this IS OEM which is my guideline for anything I change on the car. Need to put some leather conditioner on it, and the stock SC 3-spoke will stay safe in the box.

Yes. It's the first thing I tried after I got in and started the car.

I have the same taste in cars: 78 911 CS, 2003 Cooper S.

Sweet rides. I plan on installing a 930s Wheel when I get my targa.
How do you like the Mini? My wife has an '04 Cooper S- she loves it!

Cheers,

Paul.

I agree. I put one on my 78 SC, too. I find it blocks my speedo starting at about 75 mph because of the smaller radius, but it's still a very worthwhile change cosmetically and feel-wise. Great looking cars!

Cheers,

Paul.
I love the Mini, I've had it about a month. Great gas mileage, handling like it's on rails, modern amenities. Very solid little 'bimmer' feel to it. It's a perfect commuter. I've not driven an S so I don't know what I'm missing re: the S' power. I intentionally didn't drive an S, I wanted to keep the cost down but I did get the S' suspension on the Cooper.

The Porsche however, is the one they'll have to pry from my cold dead hands. The 930S wheel initially gave me sticker shock, but I didn't want Momo even if I COULD find a Porsche crest horn button, I wanted OEM and brand new, which is what I found. The car deserved a nice Christmas present, it's been perfect since I found it in June and I give it everything it needs

Joey, I've not driven the Cooper S but for suspension and 'amenities stuff' my Cooper is basically the S without the S engine. It's a wonderful little car, very solid and seems well-built. You can tell there's a lot of BMW content in it, some of the switchgear, brakes, etc. I'll definitely autocross this car for fun, but for what I wanted (low cost, high mileage, great-handling commuter that you don't see at every stoplight) this car fits the bill for me. I know there are many low cost, high mileage, well-built Japanese products, but I simply do not care for anything Japanese, either based on the anime-looking styling or because every time you blink you see a Camry or Corolla or Civic or Scion. It's probably my age (51) but I associate Japanese with youth and (unfortunately) 'rice'.
