I am preparing my 911 SC targa for DE events. It's a little tatty on the interior and it has 170k miles on it. So, it will never be a collector's car or a concours car. It is currently painted OEM "schwartz metallic" (black metallic) but I was thinking of painting it speed yellow. I am working on the prep work now and hopefully I'll be ready to spray in the spring. What color should I paint it? Does anybody have any pictures of a speed yellow targa w/ black Fuchs?

I'd vote for Signal Yellow.

Black is more menacing .. Plus, you wont have to worry as much about it being an obvious repaint.

I say go for a Viper (Conda) Green, or Signal Yellow.

If it's going to be your track car, why paint at all? Spend the money on some additional suspension stuff or balance your car.

(That being said, go with Speed Yellow. Or that new Lamborghini Orange.)

It needed some body work done to it and it was really looking pretty haggered. I always wanted to do a paint project on a car so this was a good time for it.

I read here that white was a good color for a track car - doesn't show chips very much...

Well, my $0.02cdn, I say go british racing green. That's a kick *** colour. My second choice would be the Gulf blue already mentioned. That'd make it stand out.

Go for the gulf Blue with Orange trim. Even if you don't have the best track time .. People will still think it was Steve McQueen out there. .. :-)

Dude there is no option for NOT RED! Ha. Why we have two guards red porsches is beyond me. Next one is going to be anything but red.
