Alright Tony, give it up, which Walmart? I am in Severna Park, you cant be that far from me! It seems Walmart has taken over the east coast, but their pricing seems to be far from consistant.

I've seen (and taken advantage of) the $17.88 for 5 qts of 15-50 Mobil 1 deal at Walmarts in Germantown, MD; Oak Ridge, TN; and Savannah, GA. Unfortunately, more often than not, they don't have it in stock. When they do, I buy all I can afford (or all they have) since I need it for both the SC and the old 4000 Quattro.

I just changed my oil last weekend and went to Walmart in Germantown, K-mart, and Target no luck. Anybody in MD interested in trying to get a 'group buy' on the 5 quart jugs of 15w50 if I can find a source?

Does Mobile 1 cause oil leak if you do not used Mobile 1 since day one, I was using 20-50 now, but every 6 mths for $40 that would not my concern, the only thing I care is oil leak.

I do not drive my car much, I only put roughly about 1500 miles per year, cause I have 2 other cars to beat up, not the Porsche

Thanks for any input

MObile 1 or any other synthetics do not cause oil leaks. Your engine will leak regardless of brand oil. So, go drive that car.

Sorry Chris, I've been busy and I'm just getting back to the site. I found the oil at the WalMart on Rt. 43- White Marsh Blvd. The exit for Rt. 43 is between Perring Prkwy. and Harford Rd. Proceed ~1.5 miles and turn right at the second light into the parking lot.

Thanks for the info. I found some at BJ's wholesale club, but it was $25/case. Not a great deal, but not too bad. If I can find it for $3 I will stock up. I would love to get some in bulk, but dont need a ton of it, just a few cases every year. Good idea though!

Call me crazy, but I put in some Mobil 1 15-50 in Early December in my weekender, and I swear, it leaks a bit more than before, ( not really much, maybe 2 drops a week sitting) and it also seems to consume more!

What's the best weight of Mobile One to use, in a warm (40-120F) climate?

Many techs I know will tell you that a synthetic will find it's way out faster than standard oil. Why? One reason I've heard is that it is "thinner". I'd be interested to hear other opinions.

Jack, the owner's manual to my 92 C2 recommends 15W-50 for that temperature range. This is also what I use here in Houston, where the temperatures range from about 30 to 100 F.

I bought some 5qt containers at Wally World in Roseville, Ca.

The p/n on the receipt for 15W-50 is 007192444934. $18.08 each. Maybe your local Wally World could order some for you.

this is also conventional wisdom on a motorcycle list I'm on. Though nobody seems to have 'proof'.
