'71 that I acquired recently. Old guy's on it's 4th color and needs some tidying up which means I get to pick the fifth. Awfully stock except for the 73.5T CIS motor that found its way into the back at some point. Sorry that the pictures aren't all that good, haven't had a chance to take some decent ones.

Well, let me be the first to vouch for the 73.5 T engine. It's been truly fantastic, smooth, and strong for me. Personally, I wouldn't be in a rush to swap it out unless it needed replacing anyway. Of course, I just had the choice of rebuilding mine or going the 73 S route or even the 3.0 or 3.2 route. I ultimately decided to keep it the same, and am glad I did.

Those are the outlets that were used on early sport mufflers. They'd be capped off for street driving, but opened up on the track.

PC2 and Juan.......What beauties you guys have! I'm drooling!
White with Blue Carrera graphics is just about as good as it gets for me. But Juan your track car is on a whole other level. Holy Cow!
I'd like to hear more about both if you guys could post some specs......

I'm on the hunt for another early car. My first Porsche was a 66 911 bought back in 67. I've worked my way through a few different Porsches over the years but I've always missed that first car.

Cheers,
Robert

Hi Robert,

Thank you for the kind words. White & blue color combination is my favorite for an RS and I was extremely lucky to have found this rust free example close to home. This was someone else's unfinished RS Clone project, the PO lost interest and listed her on ebay.

In regards to specs, it currently has the original 2.2/Zenith carbs & 901/911 5 speed transmission. I'll be using this car primary as a track car so the specs will continue to evolve. But so far I've refreshed and upgraded the front & rear suspension with Elephant Racing's PolyBronze bushings, Sander's 22F/29R T-Bars with Bilstein HD & Sports, turbo tie-rods, new ball joints, adjustable spring plates. Next will be RS front spoilers with Elephant's oil cooler, Smart Racing's front & rear sway bars, WEVO shifter, M&K sport mufflers, "S" Calipers, DAS roll bars, and Sparco seats. And last on my long list will be a 3.6 transplant which probably won't happen until 2 years from now or until I recover from my "Porsche induced Bankruptcy".

PS. I love your 356s!

Unfortunately, mine took a step backward in the looks department four weeks ago at Sears Point.

It was only cosmetic damage, and the car was back on the track for its next session.

But Santa is going to have to bring a little paint in his sleigh for me this year.
