Question Vin # question

My insurance adjuster is telling me I have a Grey market car based on the VIN number. I don't think I do, as I don't have the euro headlights or tail lights, nor has any of my mechanics or pervious owner mentioned it. The car has had a front right fender replaced at on point. My VIN number WP0EB091XGS161823 checks out on CarFax okay.

What diget in here tells if it si euro or American?

Thanks

Nope. WP0ZZZ would make it Grey market.
The "G" means it is an 86
The 6 toward the end means Targa, USA/Canada

Yo Billy!

My Porsche family tree says:
Vin # WPOEB091xGS160001-1976
is for a 1986 US 911 Targa. Your engine
s/n should be 64G00001-07495.

If your adjuster is looking in the front compartment just past the spare tire, your vin, with "zzz" will be stamped in the metal under the carpet by the boot cover. AFAIK, all Porsche serials are stamped with "zzz" in the chassis, which I assume is before they build them for each market, which in turn determines the final VIN. The adjuster should be using the VIN on the windshield post or the sticker on the drivers door frame.
