Carpet glues ?
Help!,
I have read the Pelican articles on installing the carpet but he never really states what he used on all of the carpet. He stated using some 3m spray but what type of glue.
Should i just use the 3m can on all of it?
If i use another type of paste would you use a paint brush to put it down?
Where can i buy the 3m cans?
Thanks for any help

I think its just called 3M adhesive spray which you can buy at any of the automotive stores. You don't want to spray it on all the pieces. I left the floor pieces unglued.

If you go to an automotive or hardware store you will find two different 3M products. 77 is a good high strength adhesive, super 90 is realy strong you have to be careful because it may melt some carpets but if you want it permanent, and it doesnt melt you carpets, you can use it. I plan on doing my carpets soon and I will Probably use 77, but I want to be able to pull my carpet up whenever the urge strikes me. Good luck and you can check 3M's website for more info if you need to.

I put up the note on Mercedes carpet glue. Go back to Todd's note "Carpet. . . on a roll," for the part number. I am a very big fan of 3M products, but one try of the Mercedes stuff made me forget all about the 3M stuff, for interior or weatherstripping work. It's also the best for Targa tops and clearly very close, if not identical, to what Porsche uses.

Thanks so much for the help.
I will probably use the 3M 70 strength on all of the carpet.
I hope Pep-boys has the stuff.
