911sc - 18" wheels possible??
Hi,
have been offered a set of Porsche 18" wheels, but for the post '89 wheel fitting ( from a late 944 ).
so I'd need wheel spacers to fit them onto my 911
has anyone else tried wheels this size - did they fit inside the arches OK?

Oxford, you may want to take a look at Dr. Steve Timmins site on wheel fitments.

I think you will be okay with the backspacing/offset however I would worry about how much rubber you could fit on the rim depending upon rim width and sidewall height. Steve does a great job from personal experience in evaluating what wheels will fit what vehicle. I have an 86 Carrera and will probably go with 17" just to give myself the extra room to stuff 225s up front and ~275s in the rear. The other thing to keep in mind that you may lose out by going too large as too much tire for a car can be just as bad as too little, i.e. unsprung mass problems.
Good luck!
