Default Optional tails for 86 Carrera

Was the turbo tail an available option from the factory for an 86 or was it only avialble with the full turbo look body?
I'm looking at an 86 with the a turbo tail but no fron chin spoiler so I assume that the tail was added later (it does appear to be a factory tail though).

The 1986 Carrera had a Carrerra Tail similar to the turbo tail but not as large (rubber edge did not curve around to the sides). Turbo tail only came on turbo. If you have any tail on the car you need the front chin spoiler to keep the car stable at speed.

That's what I thought. This car I am looking at has the turbo tail with the rubber lip wrapping around the sides and the edges are upturned.

Not a good idea. The car would be unstable at high speed with that setup. You need a front spoiler if you have a rear spoiler on the 911.

Tails were often dealer installed & since both were just parts, either one could have been installed at delivery or a month later etc. The value of the chin spolier was often ignored/misunderstood - it still is . . . Mine had the Carrera tail with no front spoiler for its first 17 years.
