3.2 Normal Operating Temp
Mine ('87 coupe, no spoilers, no cat, Mobil1, 109K mi) normally operates around the first line above cold, 90C, very rarely at or above half way to hot. The thick white block at the bottom, cold, ends at 60C. Hot (red block) is 150C, below that, the upper line, is 120C. You can read the temps if you peek closely to the left of the marks on gauge.
All cars read differently based on how they are driven. The factory thermostat on Carrera oil coolers is 244 degrees F before the fan comes on. This is based on hard driving, sitting in traffic with A/C running. I took the 244 F thermostat out and replaced it with a 99 degree C one (210.2 degree F) My oil cooler fan now comes on automatically and never gets over 210.2 F, even in the summer running the A/C.
