i have a 75 911 with a 2.7 and have had 2 "european car" mechanics look at it and they can't figure out the problem so they tell me to swap in some carbs.........but i have already spent alot of money in cis parts...........here is what it does: the engine starts but after a few seconds dies unless the plunger (a brass plate inside the air box) is pushed up slightly with my finger...when it is pushed up it runs and revs well...the mechanics have replaced the fuel pump and the fuel distributor...any help would be a appreciated

Johnny:
IMHO, you need some basic CIS setup procedures.
First, make sure your cold & hot control pressures are precisely at spec. Then:
1) Check your FD plunger length as each FD is different.
2) Check and reset sensor plate height

Steve,
I have a new fuel distributor I plan to install on my CIS system. Would you know how long the plunger should be on a 1975 911S 2.7 system or know the source of that information?
