Post Shocks for an 84 Carrera

I'm seriously considering replacing my original Bilsteins (I assume they're original as I've only had the car 2 years - it's got 135k miles). My question is do I go with the standard HD Bilsteins or go with the Sport versions. Price is irrelevant as they cost the same. I only take the car to the track (club DE's) maybe 7 times a year, and log maybe 5000 miles myself on weekends or occasional jaunts to work on nice days. I don't want my kidneys pounded any more than the car already does, but I don't want a "soft" car on the track either. Anyone out there with experience with these shocks???

Unless you've upgraded your torsion bars or anticipate upgrading them, I'd stick with the HD's. I've used the Sports with thicker torsion bars (21/27 and 22/29) and they worked well with them. As a general rule, the performance of shocks and torsion bars (or springs) are interdependant on each other, and should compliment each other for the best effect.
