my throttle position sensor connector only has 2 wires

my throttle position sensor connector only has 2 wires
looking at my throttle position sensor so that i could check if its working the sensor itself has 3 pins but the connector going into it only has two pins (wires) a brown and white is this how it is supposed to be.
