Hi,
At AutoX today, I noticed my (new to me) 911 oil temeprature went to a new high between the 210 and 250 mark. Air temerature was 90+ and each run was about 35 seconds.
Is this within execpted values? or Do I have a cooling problem? My car has only the engine mounted oil cooler.
TIA.

General guidance is 250 degrees or less is OK, with 250 being as hot as you want to go. When mine started running in the 250+ range on the track, I switched from a dino-based oil to Mobil 1 for some additional protection, as I went through several additional cooling solutions. This was on an 81SC.

Thanks Bill,
I figured it was ok but I just wanted to be sure (I would have been surprised to find out that when the gauge is at 50%, you are in trouble since normally that occurs at the 75% or so point).
