Default Rear Wheel Rub

I have 7's and 8's on my '84 Targa. The strange thing is that on the driver rear tire, it looks like the tire is rubbing on the wheel well. The passenger side is fine, just the drivers side that rubs. Tires are Dunlop SP Sport 8000 (P205/55/ZR16 front and P225/50/ZR16 rear). What could be causing this??

Do you know what your rear camber is set at? If way off, that could cause rubbing in the rear well.

8x16 Fuchs with 225 50 should fit fine... are these aftermarket wheels? If these are 911 wheels I doubt whether your camber could be off that much... you'd notice it. I would guess the offset is wrong on the wheels?

Have you done alot of suspension work? Looks like the car has been lowered quite a bit. If it has stock springs, in hard cornering that might make the difference... the weight of the driver on the left could cause just enough extra body lean to cause it... just guessing....

Still, a 9" turbo wheel with 245 fits a 3.2 perfectly.... so do the 8x16 911 and 944Turbo wheels with 225...I'd take the wheel of and measure the backspacing ... thats the distance between the inside of the wheel center and the inside rim. 911 wheel has 112 mm of backspace and the 944Turbo is 125mm. If it is less than that, it will stick out more... maybe it is a 928 wheel?
