Post Rust on Rear Deck...Need help asap!

Hi all,

I'm looking at a 72 911, (Like...right now...) and it has some significant rust-through in the rear deck. (Underneath the rear window, sort of above the engine.) Are there any repair panels for this anywhere? I'm assuming it can be fixed by just removing the rear window, and not necessarily the whole engine. Does anyone know where I can find a part to fix this?

Thanks,

mto

You need to pull the seats/seat bottoms out and the carpet and sound proofing out. It is probably rusted all the way down there. It will be a miracel if it is not. I have seen people buy this piece from a wreck and replace it. They apprently drilled the spot welds for a nice clean install. They did it with the motor in. Check on pelican and search the forum.

Michael:

This is quite common and can be reapired by a competant body shop with the glass out of the way. Its part of the whole roof panel so its cheaper to repair, rather than replace it.
