Dash Mat... How to secure it?
I have a Dash Mat on my new leather dash. I hope it will help save this one from the heat of the sun, etc, but it keeps flying into my lap.
How do others secure the things without using velcro, tape, etc on the leather?

FWIW, I spent too much time and $$ replacing the dash to consider something that 'might' ruin it.
I found a set of 4 small suctin cups with hooks today at Home Depot. I stuck them along the very bottom of the windshield and turned the hooks towards the dash. They pich the mat against the dash pretty well, and I can't see how this might ever cause an issue with the leather.
I had to come up with something, and this seems to work well. A quick launch or a tight turn will likely prove otherwise, but for now I'll try this over the velcro tape.

I have a dash mat and it just sits on top. I wouldn't consider sticking velcro on my dash. I haven't had a problem with it coming off, but at high speeds, I'm closed up. Don't like wind!

I used a dashmat on an old lotus I had, but I had to use alcohol to clean the dash before the velcro tabs would stick, I found that in the heat it was hotter under the dashmat than on top of it and over a year two big cracks appeared on the dash , so I religously use the windscreen reflector with extra length for the front side windows and no dash mat now.

Most RV stores carry a product that when set on a dash prevents whatever is on top from sliding. Not really sure but a layer of this between the dash and may might work, it uses no fasteners so it would be ideal.

I have a piece of this stuff, it's like a 1/8" thick foam 'cushion' that is very much like the drawer liner they sell at Home Depot.
I thought it would be great, but it proved to be only marginally better than nothing but the dash mat.
