Default '71 911T Tach- works intermittently

Okay, my last post for today, I promise. My tach works sometimes and most times--not. I installed new points, lubed the distributor cam, checked the wire connection at the distributor and all seems just fine--but still the tach only wants to work on rare occassions. Wire connections behind the tach seem to be okay. I know this car sat for quite awhile and I'm gradually getting everything back working. Perhaps the tach simply needs to be rebult? If so, any recomendations for a location in Southern Caly?

Please let me know your thoughts. Many thanks.

Tim: North Hollywood Speedo on Lankershim is the best I know of, I've used them for at least 20 years. It might be a good idea to call them and get their advice.

Thanks for the information Mark. I'll give them a call. Great book, by the way, I found it to be very helpful when I purchased both the '71 911T and my '96 C4S.
