'87 911 Turbo won't start

I've owned this '87 for five months. It has always started right up, first try, as soon as I turn the key.
Today when I turned the key, it would get power but would't catch.
I don't want to run the battery dead by continuing to crank it.
Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Neil

I'd start (no pun intended) with the DME relay under the driver's seat. With DME relays, the question is not "will it fail," the question is actually "when will it fail?" If your 87 has any sort of mileage on it (60,000+) the DME relay is a likely suspect.
Pelican Parts sells the relay, and it's less than $50. If the relay is bad, I'd order two and keep one as a spare.
Good luck.
