Default 85 to 86 dash conversion

I just finished installing the " large vent" dash as an upgrade in my 1985.5 930. The old slyle dash had two plastic vents that chanel air toward the windshield...
The new style has a metal or plastic defroster trim piece that is held in place with 5 screws. This is where I need some advice as there is nothing to screw this trim piece to...

Thanks in advance...
BTW, Windshield was not removed during install...

You can either cut off the tabs off the donar car, and weld them onto your car or you can simply use black phillips head long sheet metal screws and screw it down at an angle into the car.

Make sure you spray under the dash with black paint before you install the vent (or the factory color will show through).

Can you please describe what steps you had to take in order to get the dash to fit? Did you have to modify the metal defrost vents?

Thanks
