Many rebuilds are done because you want to, not because you have to. What do you want to do?

I have a 78 SC with 130,000 miles that I use as a daily driver. My compression values are 110 to 120. Porsche says they should be within 22, so by that measure you're OK. Does your car use oil? The broken head studs are probably a serious problem butI don't know how much disassembly is required to replace them.

What's the problem under 3000 rpm? Do you have a starting problem?
