I have a factory dead pedal to install in my 84, but I have no idea as to the correct placement.
I figure it is probably a trial-n-error process to see what works well for my foot/leg, but I'd appreciate any insight as to 'correct' placement before I drill any holes.
Also, for those who have already installed them, did you attach it with nuts & bolts, or did you use screws?

Dan: i think that I would stop at Home Depot/Lowes and pick up some heavy duty velcro. That should hold it in place while you decide where you like it the best.

Dan--
there was a discussion on Pelican I think. One suggestion was to use stainless bolts and nylock nuts, sealed with silicone to prevent any water from coming back in.. I'm waiting on a dead pedal myself to install - I'll likely pull back the carpeting to find the DME wiring that Steve W flagged - don't want to nick that puppy.
