Thanks Noel. I'm running 225/45 (yes 45) and 245/45 16s on my 7&9s so my tire size is limited. The fronts and rears have less than a half inch difference in width but create a fairly balanced car. I ran with NASA this summer at Beaverun in June and at Gingerman in July and had a great time but I'm getting tired of sliding all around. At the beginning of the session the street tires have good traction but as the temps rize, and its been hot this summer with 90 deg days, the SO3s get greasy. I'm thinking of moving to Toyo RA1s in the 225/50 and 245/45 sizes but then I think I need a roll bar, harnesses and seats.

Sliding around is what makes you a faster driver!!! I've had race tires and I really like using Streets on the track now. I am a so much better driver now.

Also keep in mind that Race Tires will create issues with braking that you may not have now. Since the adhesion is better, they really work the brakes harder...which equals more heat. I'm happy with my brakes now and but if I went back to Race tires, my brakes would have serious issues again. Something to think about.

Since I have half of my fronts left, I'm just going to replace the rears with new SO3s and hopefully get another 10-15 days on them.

Sounds like a more cost effective plan.
