K & N watershields w/ MFI ?

i have a 71 E w/MFI and am thinking about putting on the K & N watershields.
will they fit?
any problems?
any perf. gains?
are they louf?
do you loose preheat?

1. No they won't fit. They are made for carbs.

5. No. The preheat hose runs to the MFI thermostat and not the air filter.
There is a thread on the Pelican board regarding aftermarket air filters on MFI. You might want to do a search there.

Hi Ken:
Kurt gave some valuable advice and I'd second that,..
One can adapt the Watershields or ITG foam airfilter assemblies to the MFI stacks but the stock aircleaner housing makes more power than the individual ones. Plus, it keeps water out which is big problem for all but the Watershields.
IMHO, its not worth the trouble.
If you are looking for a little more sound, then you can remove the intake snorkel and fabricate a large bellhorn.
