Default Tires

Don't flame me - I tried the archives but had an unmanageable number of hits.

For a 84 Carrera, what is a good compromise high speed, sticky, but all-weather tire?

Driving in snow would not be an intended or common circumstance in my area, but still a possibility. Performance in snow would be at the bottom of my priorities. Rain is a different story.

I like the Kuhmo 712 Z-rated. If you are actually in Corrales, NM., PM me and you can drive them.

Best regards,
Paul

Default Was: Tires Now: Size

My car currently has P205/55R16 front and P225/50R16 rear. Are these sizes a recommended upgrade from the OE sizes, or should I go back to stock? As far as I know the wheels are what came with the car from the dealership.

Those sizes are exactly what you want to stay with. By the way, I just put a set of Bridgestone 750s on my '82 SC coupe. My need for good wet stopping plus excellent dry handling pushed me that direction. Unfortunately I haven't had them on long enough to tell you more about them, but everyone that I spoke to loves them.
