Im trying to replace the shells, or sleeves that the injectors in my 81 sc mount in and cant figure out how to get them out. Do I have to remove the intake runners and push them out from the bottom? I am replacing them because one has a slight crack and I figure if I'm doing one I may as well do them all. Should they move up and down in the runner, only two of them do, one of them is the one with the visible crack. I will also be doing the injectors and seals as long as I'm at it. Thanks,

there is three small 'crimps' on the intake manifold that holds them in. If your careful, take a dremel tool and grind down the small 'crimps' or staking tabs, so to speak.
The old o-ring will most likely be dry and hard. Might take some effort to get them out.
Be careful not to break them and let pieces fall into the intake track.

Mike,
You may have already read the "CIS Fuel System Tuneup" article on tech.rennlist.com. As I recall, I replaced two of the sleeves that either cracked or came out. Those that stayed in I left in (if they didn't come out after the massive pulling to get injectors with rock hard seals out, they were staying in). You don't need to remove the intake runners, either. You may want to be sure the valves are closed on that cylinder, just in case the sleeve shatters.
