I was wondering if/who makes the wide tires for the old 15" wheels (like the 9 & 11" ones on the 73RSR) for the street/track. My buddy just bought a Pantera with 8's and 10's. It currently has BFG Euros (NLA) that are 305/50 in the rear (a bit big for the car but it works). I would think that something like 295/45/15 would be ideal in the rear and maybe 245/55/15 in front would work. Any suggestions. I figured there are probably some slicks make for the RSR's but curious if there are any street tires or DOT-R's that fit those rims.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Grant, I was recently looking into the possibility of running 15" Fuchs instead of the more expensive 16's. I found diddly squat for good tires out there, especially in R-compounds.
Here are some I did run across:
BFG, Drag Radial 2, 275/50-15
Hoosier R3S04, 245/50-15
Dunlop SP8000, 245/50-15
Basically, I gave up when I didn't see too many serious choices.

Hi Grant:
As Fred pointed out, there are few choices in large 15" tires anymore.
Pirelli used to make the P-7000 in the Countach 335/50-15's but those are out of stock. Yokohama doesn't offer AVS Intermediates in the 285/40-15 size any longer.
One of my customers found some street tires for his RSR in 16" so we made him a set of 9x16 and 11x16 Fuchs for street use.
He uses Avon 15" race tires on his original RSR wheels for the rest of the time.

Grant,
You can sometime find used tires for sale. I have been stocking up on 345/35/15's myself. But you sure can't get state of the art rubber, you can still buy racing slicks and the Avon's that steve mentioned above but those are tyres and not tires.
