I am trying to decipher the color code for my 1981 911 targa. The color code is 31G-9-3. Can anyone help? Thanks

I am wondering..., where did you get that code from?
Looking up the code 31g under 1981 it shows the exteior color Pacific Blue Metallic (a beautiful color). I can only guess that the 9-3 would be the interior color but I could not match that up to anything. I did find the code 09 as for black leatherette/leather but that could just be coincidence. What does the interior look like? Is it leather, vinyl, or cloth?

I agree with samimi. I looked through every option code in Peter Morgan's book, 911SC--Ultimate Buyer's Guide. The color is Pacific Blue Metallic, but your other numbers do not match any codes listed in his book, which includes all exterior colors, carpet colors,fabric colors, etc.

thanks for the info -- If you open up the driver side door and look at the frame (on the body not the door) is the location where I found the the color code.

This will help since I was looking for touch up paint and now I know the correct color.
