Post '88 930 vs 993

Recently drove an '88 930. Considering trade of my '99 Boxster & 87 951 for the 930. When I spoke with a local shop he suggested I go to a 993 instead. His reason was that it has most of the advances. I know....get the latest model you can afford. But this is 911 vs. a Turbo. Any thought from the board regarding this comparison? The 930 has 50,000 documented miles, excellent shape. Comments regarding comparison of 993 and 930, maintenance, pricing for a 930, and future resale value are welcome.

Drive a candidate 993 back-to-back w/ the 930 you are considering, one where the outcome of the trade-in deal would be approximately equivalent to you (financially). Think over the difference in driving experiences while you consider the O&M and resale factors.

Street driving with a potential for track down the road. Also worth mentioning I have a '99 Explorer available as my second car.
