Default Lazy Tach

Hello to all,
I'm posting this for a friend of mine. The tach on his SC has started taking naps on him! Sometimes the tach drops to 0 rpms, sometimes when he starts the car, the tach stays @ 0. This is an intermittent problem. Can anyone recommend any checks that can be performed short of pulling the tach and sending it out?
Any help would be great!

Thanks,
Cesar

Cesar:

I would check the electrical connections both at the CDI box and tach before I sent the tach off to be fixed. Its takes VERY little oxidation or corrosion to make the tach become intermittent or quit.

Look for the black & purple-striped wire.

for one way to renew the connections, go to the Pelican bbs and search on:
grady + clay + vinegar

I see you're in socal. if you end up having to get it fixed, call north hollywood speedometer. they've done work for me in the past and it all turned out nicely. no affiliation... just a satisfied customer.
