I am going to Gingerman in a couple of weeks with the PCA for my first track day (on 4 wheels at least). Besides going to the dealer in Westmont, is there anywhere else in the Chicago area, preferably the western 'burbs that I can get tech inspection accomplished? Dealer's hours are a bit of a hassle. If there is a shop around here that the PCA would accept as signing off on Tech inspection that would be great.
thanks,
jeff

Check with your regions technical chair, who should be able to tell you alternatives. Some regions have technical inspectors who aren't business's, while some rely soley on business's. Also look to nearby regions who may have tech inspectors with easier access/better hours for you.

Depending on the distance you wish to travel.
Midwest Performance Cars

CI believe they can do tech inspections. If not, Tom Simmons, the owner, will definitely know a location in the area as he is a track-user himself.

not sure what suburbs but Moto-Delta dot com (Downers Grove), Motomotion dot com (Oswego), Midwest Eurosport (Bensonville) (they have a new shop opening at the autobahn country club in Joliet, Perfect Power (Libertyville) are just a few that come to mind.

i ended up going to Midwest Eurosport, reasonably priced and convenient to the train into the city. I bought the car from Tom but he is a bit out of the way for this. I will check out Moto-delta, they are practically cross town.
Had a blast at Gingerman. You really discover out how many goodies you want to add to the car once you've been on the track.
Thanks,
jeff
