Default Varioram won't idle......

This has been a 2 month nightmare. 97 OBD II Vram runs very strong but will not idle when coming to a stop...

But the car restarts immediately!!!!! Anyone else go through this???

I'm running a remapped FVD DME with cyntex chip. Have replaced DME, ISV and DME harness to no avail.

I'm also looking for a source for a 993 OBD II diagnostic port to install into my system

Try moving this thread onto 993 forum - I'm sure the guys over there can help.

Vram,

Won't idle? Does the car die immediately or does the idle hunt-before-death?

Quite a common problem on 964/993. Could be sucking air below butterfly? Check here first.

Often the mass-flow unit is guilty - difficult to check without correct equipment.

Another problem is the flywheel setup. Often a very light setup here causes the EMS to struggle to keep up due to the inherent loss of momentum - however your (unknown to me) EMS should be able to be programmed to fix this problem.

Give us a little more detail on your setup.

Tom

Thanks Cookie....I just dropped a diagnostic port off at the Bosch place so he could add it in and put it through his software...this is an 82 SC with a 3.6 and therefore had no port.....I'll keep this thread updated for future users....
