PICTURES Surry County, VA Drive
We were Blessed!! The weather held up for us. Not a drop of rain inspite of "showers and thunderstorm" prediction. We almost canceled this tour but DON with his infinite wisdom insisted in going for it. With a reminder from REBECCA that Porsches do not melt in the rain, we went for it. With clouds overhead but dry roads, most of the lower peninsula drivers met at 830am by the Sunoco gas station at Indian River Rd and I-64. We then rendezvous with the rest of the group at Cosmos in Porthsmouth and began the gorgeous drive through highway 10 towards Surry. After over an hour of real fun driving, we met up with the Richmond folks at Va Diner for lunch. It was good to see some old friends like Keith (Arena Red 993 C4S), Rebecca and Mark(I like the hair and the cool driving shoes Rebecca!). I felt like I was at VIR seeing these folks Lots of porsche stories to tell. After few minutes of p talk at the parking lot, north bound and south bound drivers parted ways to have more fun in the twisties of Surry.
The only thing I don't like about these meet is there is not enough time to talk with everyone
Everyone was back home safely at 3PM...dry
Thanks a lot to DON who organized this scenic tour, Trully outstanding route. Thanks also to REBECCA in bringing down the Richmond drivers to meet us halfway at the Virginia Diner(no affiliation). Thanks to JIM HALTOM for his hard work in covering the video work.
There are many more other cars than what we have in this pictures. Everyone was scattered a bit in the parking lot so I didn't a chance to take pix of everyone's car in which I apologize.
Thanks to John(Seal Gray 997 for the lunch )
Video to follow.

Great pictures you guys!
But, $2.27 per gallon you gotta be kidding - I just payed $2.85 per gallon for premium.

Eurocarrera,
2.27 is probably about average for premium in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. The "Middle year Coupe" is mine. It is a 1980 911SC and the color is Heliosblau. Not a common color and not quite the same as yours. Yours appears to be in near concours/excellent driver condition. Mine is in "good driver headed toward track car" condition.
Thanks for asking.
