Hi guys,
I'm having a problem with rpm's going up to 2k, when the engine is fully warmed up, and I slow down for a light. Gradually, the rev's come down, or sometimes I give a quick blip to the throttle, and the idle comes down. If I just touch the gas pedal, the idle goes up again. When I slow down again, the rpm' s are back @ 2k. I've lubricated the throttle linkages, but no apparent help. Feels like something is sticking. Any suggestions? Thanks, Steve

1. Make sure that the throttle butterfly fully returns to its rest position.
2. Check that the idle switch is closing properly, i.e. check that
pins 2 & 5 have good continuity with the throttle as rest. This also
checks for test #1 above.
3. Clean your idle valve and make sure that the rotor inside turns freely.
4. Ckeck for +12 volts at the center contact of the connector to the idle valve.
5. Remove the valve and close the rotor & re-install without connecting
the electrical connector. Start the engine, the idle should be low. Now
re-connect the connector & the idle should increase. This test will check
the "idle-up" function.
6. Remove the valve and open the rotor & re-install without connecting
the electrical connector. Start the engine, the idle should be high. Now
re-connect the connector & the idle should decrease. This test will check
the "idle-down" function.
7. Check for any air leaks which bypass the the throttle butterfly.
8. Make sure that you haven't changed from the stock Porsche chip or
modified the DME control unit.
