I just bought a '79 w/ stock motor, and it failed big time the first time through (granted the smog pump was removed). I got a used pump @ 20th st auto for $95, had Stuttgart tweak the mixture and it passed the retest by a mile...

I also own a '80SC. One of the new rep's in the House is a friend of mine. (I own him - I contributed to his campaign) I've proposed to him that all cars over 25 years of age need to exempt from emissions. He's researching it and will submit the bill to the House for discussion and a vote. Please contact you state representative and have him watch for the bill. I'll try and keep you posted.
