Has anyone run MXs on a Carrera ?- mine have flat -spotted (not from braking) or are inherently out of round. I can't get 'em to balance after repeated tries. They have great grip, look good, but shake the whole car and feel terrible. I'm wondering if they are too much tire for the car - W rated and all.........anyone had any experience with them?

How long does the car sit?
IIRC, Kumho MX's are silica-based, and when cold (~32°) have just about zero grip; I've found that some tires idle-flatspotting tendencies are greater than others. If the car sits for extended periods, try a greater psi to help alleviate this. Example: if normal load is ~28-32 psi, and the tire has a max psi of 52, I'll bump up the pressure if the car's going to sit for >2 weeks to about 45-50psi cold, then drop the pressure when taking the car out for a spin. The Kumhos are decent tires, lower treadwear than expected, but cheaper all-around. My BFG's seem to be a harder tire / sidewall, and they do not flatspot when sitting for awhile. The wife's van flatspots very easily with her self-sealing Generals on the Montana. The Yokohamas I had also tended to flat-spot over time.
Typically, my experience has been that sitting flat-spots work themselves out after 15-30 minutes of driving, if it hasn't been too long since the last drive.

Great on my 993, too! I highly recommend them. Can't speak for the Carrera, but can't see why MXs wouldn't work great there too. Perhaps it's a bad tire. How old is it? Warranty issue, maybe??
