Air conditioning is very much not the norm on the British cars of this era. Which seems a good thing considering how much time is spent discussing how useless it is and the fact that our summers are really not that hot. The best bit is of course that we get the ROW engine which gives out 230bhp with no catalytic convertor etc.
Car looks very nice by the way. As has previously been said you will find a number of Brits on this site. You may also want to look at the Porsche Club GB forum as they have a 3.2 specific section (not as active as Rennlist). Also take a look at www.911uk.com tends to be a little 993 biased but still a good site and quite active.

Hi Guys,
I'm sorry, I misled you,..it's not an SC, its a 911 Carrera 3.2 SE.
To quote from the Ultimate Buyers Guide written by Peter Morgan (he's the guy who did the pre-purchase report for me)
"The Sport is a desirable model produced for the UK only. From the outside the car could be identified by the whaletail rear spoiler, front extension and green painted bilstein gas pressure shock absorbers and 6 and 7-inch wiide forged Fuchs Alloy wheels with black painted centres, and fitted with 205/55 and 255/55 Tyres. From 1987 the sport package was renamed in the UK and known as the 911 with Sport Equipment. (SE)
The 911 Turbo look was known as SSE, Super Sport Equipment.
The following are the options listed in the owners manual.
C16 & 058, 139,335,383,387,425,474,494,975,330,340,473,490,567
The other thing that I have come across is that it does not appear that the car is Guards Red, but Indian Red.? The paint code in the Service book is L80K VC.
I'll check into this, but I think its actually the same colour but re-named at some stage from Guards to Indian.
Those of you who noted that the steering wheel is on the wrong side, so did I. Fortunately, so are the pedals!. There are lots of left hookers over here in the UK, and these are usually about £5K cheaper, and awkward to drive over here.
I paid £21,000 for the car. Original asking price £22,500. That is about top money for the car in the UK. You can pick up 89's for as little as £12,000 but they are usually 100K+ milers with loads of maintenance etc. I looked at lots between £15 and 20 which was my budget, and this one was the best.
As I said before, you guys are lucky...cars are not cheap here. A friend of mine who has a house in Florida has just bought a brand new Mustang for the equivalent of £15K, which over here will only buy you a low/mid range saloon.
Regards
Graham

Beatiful eaxample of a Carrara Targa. Reminds me of my Dad's 1986 Carrara wich is in simaler condition with like 32,000 miles on it. I love the 3.2 Carraras. They are so much fun to drive and feel like you are in a race car and are very raw and fast.
Enjoy you new car they are so much fun.

but....
who would want a mudstain (mustang) at ANY price?
I do like the new GT version, but I would still rather have my 20 year old Carrera.
