Jack,
It pained me to see this....
I was planning on doing some of the same modications to my 911 that you had done (and still plan to once I save up some more cash)
I hope you get it back on the road soon. I hope you document the rebuild process and post it on your website.

Jack,
Glad to hear and see you are ok! As others have stated, amazing how fast it happens. When I was a kid, I had MGA's, an AH 100-6, then later a new '73 Opal GT (no matter what anyone thinks, this car was a blast to drive with 50/50 weight ratio!). I would road race these against 914s, TR6s, etc., up and down the canyons to the ski resorts, etc. (I live in SLC, UT). I've spun several times and thank god no one ever got injured (we were really crazy back then - 30 years ago). Anyway what happened? It appears that everything was going great, then the car straightend out and off the track. Did your left front tire go off the track on the inside and get hung up in the dirt or ?
Glad you're OK and as I've read your passion for your p-car, I believe you will have it restored back to it's condiditon prior to the wall kiss.
Good luck,
Jim

Isn't that Raineys corner, or something like that? Where the famous motorcycle racer crashed? I'm sure I heard that somewhere. He said when you think it's time to turn, don't cause it's to early. I watched the video and you were flying. I don't and never will have the guts to go that fast. I have been thru that corner and 50-60 mph is my limit. So sorry about your car. It kills me to see a Porsche get whacked. Best of luck getting it back in race shape.

Well first off the important thing is your OK. I know how a bruised ego feels. It sucks, but it doesnt hurt quite as bad as broken bones. The old saying is true, if you never spin your not trying hard enough, on one hand everyone hates to see a 911 damaged but at the smae time I for one am happy that other people are using these cars for what they were built for. Another old saying, when life gives you lemons, you start a lemonade stand so you can buy some super cool carbon fiber fenders and hood and a bumper and, well the old saying is something like that
glad to hear your OK, good luck with the rebuild

DAMN! First me, then Jack and Richard...hope this isn't a pattern of things to come!? ![Confused](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
Truthfully Jack and Rich, I'm glad to hear that both of you are not hurt, I wasn't either, took a good pounding though.
It took a few days to realize, "Hell, it's just a <stupid> car, get over it"...although it's a car that I just enjoy the hell out of.
It will surely be better than new when finished.
Jack, could you share some information on who you have for track coverage during DE events? Now that I've had my "oopsie"...and no one said it was on the track...I'm more concerned than ever about the possibility of future incidents.

My track policy is with American Collectors Insurance. It's $300 a year for (in my case) an agreed value policy of $20,000, with a $4,000 (20% of agreed value) deductible. It only covers you while you're participating in Driver's Education events -- not timed or competitive events.

Thanks Jack...good luck on the repairs...just startout with the attitude, "It will wind up better than new".
...which in YOUR case, your car WAS better than new!

I couldn't access the link on your post. Turn 9, is that the Corkscrew? Here is a link to a track map for those who don't know Laguna Seca.

So sorry to hear about the unfortunate event. You were not hurt, ..that is the biggest thing. Cars can be fixed.
