Default Central locking

Newbie question: When did power locks become standard on 911s? My friend has an '87 Carerra and we are getting mixed answers. Some say power locks were standard by '87 and the car is missing parts (no button in the center console), others say it was still an option at this time. Whats the deal on this?

I'll have to check my 911 Red Book. If power locks were like those in my 928, you can't tell by looking. Both my 911 and 928 lock with rotary *****, but on the 928 turning the **** locks and unlocks both doors.

Default Power locks

I have the window sticker for my late built 87 and central locking was an option. I don't have the window sticker with me but I think it was $300 -$400 option.

Related to the tread - My '86 coupe has the power lock option. It seems to be a strange beast. When I'm in the car and push the lock button, both doors lock. When I push to unlock, both doors "appear" to unlock as both locking stems in each door pop back up. However when I get out of the car and try to open the drivers door, it is locked, but the passenger's door is unlocked. Any ideas?
TIA
