Default John Walker rules

Boy this is embarassing.....

So I call up John Walker , and make an appointment to have Carrera tensioners and a valve adjustment on my new 82 sc. I had asked the previous owner if he had it done, and he said no. I had looked myself, but *ahem* being the newbie that I am, I missed them.

So John discovers this, and what does he do? Rip me off and just leave the old parts on? Nope. Call and yell at me? Nope.

He calls me up, let me know whats going on, and thats it.

I go to pick up the car and he just charges me for the service done. Then he gives me a solid assesment of the good, the bad and the ugly on the car (thankfully, no ugly, and just a bit of bad).

What a great guy.

We've known that John is a stand up guy and probably one of the most knowledgable Porsche Techs around. I only wish he wasn't on the west coast.

So what are you going to do with the $800 you just saved?

The $800? Make another appointment with John for new Bilsteins.

Saving $800 = great.

Having an extra $800 that the wife does not know about to spend on the Porsche = priceless.

New to the Porsche world? You must come to the XXX in Issaquah on the 2nd Saturday morning of the month. Bunch of us P-car owners meet up and usually take a small drive. Welcome aboard!

During my year in Redmond, I had John do several services on my 79 including rebuild the trans. I've never met a more honest, knowledgable tech. The guy talked me out of spending unnecessay money even when I gave him an open checkbook. In John we trust.

Mark Wilson,

Who's the fellow in the above attached photo? I have communicated many times with JW over the years but never had the opportunity to meet him in person. Thanks.
