I recently purchased a 1983 911 SC. It is my first Porsche and I am very happy. I am in the San Francisco bay area and I am looking for a good shop. I was recommended to GD Racing in San Bruno. Has anyone dealt with them or know of any good shops. I was also trying to find the interior color. The paint is 182 (chiffon White) the interior is a dark brown any info would be helpful.

Congrats! My '81 coupe is also Chiffon White. Not a flashy color for sure, but it grows on you. Red and black are everywhere, it's nice to be a little unique.

If you call Porsche at 800-PORSCHE, give customer service your VIN and they can tell you the option codes that came on it, as well as the paint and interior colors. They don't know what the option codes are, however, there is an option decoder on the Rennlist forums. Also, if you haven't already, you may want to read the 911SC FAQ on tech.rennlist.com

Hello chobbs75. Congrats. Welcome to Rennlist and to Porsche ownership. You are a smart man/woman indeed. One of the most fun vehicles every built. Your SC has a 3.0 L engine which is arguably the most bullet proof engine Porsche ever made.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Super Carreras! And welcome to Rennlist - smart move. It seems that the commonalities of all real 911s is focussed in the SCs (and they fall right in between the carb-to-efi range know as CIS-world). That said, they also have the 930 engine/915 gearbox and are relatively bulletproof. Note too how many 1983 anything elses are out there running around and running hard.
Enjoy
john
