I know what you mean, we drove down to Marina Del Ray to look at a car before we bought Skippy and that was late at night and they were flying by.

fYI - with the 915 tranny, 3rd gear is 15mph/1000 rpm ( ie 4000rpm/60mph), 4th gear is 19mph, 5th is approx 24mph.

From what I've heard, most speedos read about 3-5 mph fast

Why not use a GPS for accurate speed - then you can keep the stock speedo for nostalgia

Crunchy or creamy? Those are the varieties of Skippy. I'm guessing the car is named after peanut butter or a bush kangaroo.

I replaced my speedo because it was in Kph instead of mph. I replaced my steering wheel with a Momo. I replaced the dangerous stock clicker jack with a scissor from a Boxster. These are easy swap out pieces that make driving the car more enjoyable and can easily be swapped back in an hour if need be.

Anyways, congrats on your purchase!

Good call on trying to keep it original. That's truly a unique car. In 30 years, it'll be quite the time piece!
