Default space saver on std alloy?

Anyone know if a space saver spare can be mounted on a standard alloy wheel? Saving weight is the goal.

Rims and tires are all built to TRA (Tire and Rim Association) specs whose purpose it to ensure that all brands of tires will fit all brands of wheels. There should be no problem mounting a space saver on a standard alloy wheel.
